Justin Janzen obtained
a Bachelor of Philosophy degree with Honors from
Trinity Western University in 2002. He went on
to complete his Juris Doctorate, magna cum
laude, at the University of La Verne in 2005.
Upon graduation, he worked at a civil defense
firm in San Bernardino that focused on medical
malpractice defense and insurance defense of
healthcare providers. He had a particular
interest in the intentional torts that
increasingly accompany medical malpractice
claims. He has dispensed with many such claims,
including battery, fraud, willful misconduct,
and elder abuse, at the initial stages of
litigation, often eliminating punitive damages
claims in the process. Since joining Thompson
& Colegate in 2018, his practice has
expanded to include more general litigation
claims and public entity law. While in practice,
Justin completed a Master’s in Bioethics
and Public Health Policy and teaches law courses
for the communications department at the
University of La Verne.
